travel europe switzerland lucerne culture & congress centre
ARCHITECT: JAEN NOUVEL (1998)
Lucerne's Culture & Congress Centre, or as it is know locally KKL (Kultur-und Kongresszentrum Luzern), is a multi-functional building with a concert hall.
Designed by architect Jean Nouvel and completed in 1998, the centre features dramatic black surfaces and many different sized, mostly rectangular, glass apertures.
The structure sits on the lake front across the water from the Old Town.
I did not get a chance to tour the interior but was pleasantly surprised by the clean exterior.
